As Verstappen was frequently out front in 2021, he didn't often need to pull off moves. He slingshotted past both Mercedes cars at the start of the Formula 1 Gran Premio de la Ciudad de Mexico 2021, and there were some daring moves on his British rival at the thrilling Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2021. But his season will be remembered for one pass: the final lap of the final race in Yas Island, where he dived inside Hamilton into the hairpin then held off the slipstreaming Mercedes to win the title.
